Lola (Franka Potente) hanya punya waktu 20 menit untuk mencari uang 100 ribu Mark Jerman sebelum kekasihnya Manny (Moritz Bleibtreu) merampok supermarket. Manny harus berbuat seperti itu karena dirinya sendiri juga berhutang kepada mafia dengan jumlah sebesar itu. Alhasil Lola pun harus berlari-lari terus mengejar waktu agar kekasihnya selamat. Seperti halnya kucing, Lola masih diberikan 'sembilan' nyawa untuk mencari solusi yang membuat mereka berdua sama-sama selamat. Lucu juga sih :)

Tidak dinyana film ini penuh dengan 'trick' yang tidak akan mudah bagi anda untuk menebak adegan selanjutnya. Pun, kekuatan film terletak bagaimana perspektif kita 'sengaja' digiring dari separuh awal film ini untuk bersimpati kepada Angelique dan berharap dia melupakan lelaki tersebut serta mencari kehidupan baru. Tapi bagaimana kalau kita melihat dari perspektif Laic?

The Last Deadly Mission


Orang bilang, MR 73 merupakan bagian dari trilogi film polisi/kriminal besutan sutradara Olivier Marchal, dua yang lain adalah Gangsters dan 36 Quai de Orfévres. Namun film ini tidak berhubungan satu sama lain dalam cerita, lebih kepada si sutradara yang sama dan tema yang sama. Olivier Marchal dulunya memang seorang polisi sebelum beralih ke dunia seni.

Aktor utama diperankan apik oleh Daniel Auteuil (Caché, Mon Meilleur Ami) yang memerankan Schneider, seorang detektif yang tengah depresi dan menjadi alkoholik. Penyebabnya adalah kecelakaan yang menimpa keluarga sehingga anaknya mati dan istrinya harus dirawat dgn alat seperti ventilator (life-support machine?) ketika dia sedang berselingkuh dengan Marie, koleganya di kepolisian. Sementara itu, dia juga harus menghadapi atasan-nya sendiri, Kovalski, yang juga dekat dengan Marie. Kovalski juga menghalang-halangi upaya Schneider dalam investigasi kasus pembunuhan berantai.

Di sisi (plot) yang lain, berita pembebasan seorang pembunuh berantai, Subra, mengingatkan Justine akan trauma masa kecil ketika orangtua dibantai Subra.

Film ini, seperti film2 karya Marchal lain, bermain-main pada tema polisi yang payah di tengah-tengah 'kebrengsekan' kehidupan polisi. Namun MR 73 lebih digambarkan lebih pada sisi manusiawi, orang-orang yang ingin keluar dari depresi atau dari trauma akan masa lalu dengan cara mereka sendiri.

Disebutkan bahwa film ini berdasarkan kisah nyata, walaupun saya sendiri tidak terlalu mempercayainya.

Satu hal lagi, nama MR 73 adalah sebuah jenis pistol (handgun), yang ironisnya menjadi alat untuk membalas dendam dan mengakhiri film ini dengan "pantas".

Untuk membalaskan dendamnya atas kematian koleganya ketika misi pengintaian, Marek (Roschdy Zem), seorang detektif, ikut pelatihan khusus untuk menyamar, dan akhirnya menjadi pengantar narkoba dari Spanyol ke Prancis. Dengan mengendarai sebuah mobil, Marek harus pintar-pintar menghindari berbagai rintangan yang menghadang.

Sayang DVDB yang saya dapat subtitle Inggrisnya kurang bagus. Jadi cuman bisa menebak saja jalan ceritanya.

Padahal Lorna sudah punya kekasih sendiri asal Albania yang juga mempunyai rencana hidup sendiri. So bagaimana cara Lorna bisa mencapai cita-citanya?

Kisah penerbang "ace" Jerman Manfred von Richthofen dalam Perang Dunia pertama (1914-1918).
Agak menganggu dan membuat saya sangat kecewa, film ini disyuting dengan menggunakan bahasa Inggris, maksudnya berbicara dalam bahasa Inggris / speaking English padahal aktor-aktornya orang Jerman semua, dan ini kan sejarah orang Jerman?? Saya tak mengerti mengapa harus dibikin seperti ini sehingga 'feel' ke-Jerman-annya tidak begitu terasa. Seribu sayang, I would not recommend this movie.

Kalau ada cinta segi empat, yang mana melibatkan 3 orang laki-laki dan 1 orang perempuan, terus kemudian satu laki-laki itu bersaudara kandung dengan satu perempuan tsb, bagimana menjelaskan cerita cinta seruwet ini??

Ceritanya mungkin biasa aja, dan akting Daniel Brühl (sebagai Paul Krantz) mungkin agak sedikit canggung walaupun begitu setting tahun 1920-an digarap dengan serius.
