Duet komedian Dany Boon (Bienvenue Chez Les Ch'tis, Mon Meilleur Ami) dan Benoît Poelvoorde (Astérix aux Jeux Olympiques) di film yang seru ini masing-masing berperan sebagai petugas bea cukai Perancis dan Belgia. Ditiadakannya pengecekan barang oleh bea cukai di perbatasan Perancis-Belgia--sebagai konsekuensi berdirinya Uni Eropa--sangat tidak bisa diterima oleh Ruben (Benoît Poelvoorde), seorang nasionalis yang anti-Perancis. Apalagi harus bekerja sama dengan Mathias (Dany Boon) dalam satu unit mobile customs gabungan dua negara.

1st January 1993 is a historic date for Europe, the date on which border controls a lifted for countries within the European Union. One man is not happy with this development is Ruben Vandervoorde, a customs officer in a small town on the Franco-Belgian border.
