Film remaja yang menarik, disutradarai Fabrice Gobert yang sekaligus menjadi penulis skenarionya. Menghilangnya seorang siswa di suatu sekolahan bernama Simon Werner menjadi plot utama yang mana saya yakin semua orang pun akan penasaran, dan yang bikin menarik adalah cerita ini dilihat dari point of view/perspektif 4 (empat) siswa lain, yang baik secara langsung maupun tidak, saling terkait.

Ber-setting-kan tahun 1992, dalam suatu pesta kaum remaja di sebuah rumah, sepasang cowok cewek yang 'berkelana' di areal hutan tanpa sengaja menemukan mayat. Mungkin bisa diasumsikan mayat tersebut adalah Simon Werner, tetapi sang sutradara tidak akan mau para penonton menarik kesimpulan secara dini hingga akhir film. Perspektif pertama dimulai dari Jérémie (Jules Pélissier), dengan kembali 10 hari ke belakang sebelum adegan pertama. Jérémie yang berlatih sepak bola sedang terkena sial karena cedera kaki yang menyebabkan kakinya di-gips. Kembali ke sekolah, teman-teman dekatnya Fréderic, Luc dkk, sedang membicarakan hilangnya Simon serta gosip-gosip miring mengenai penyebabnya, termasuk putusnya Simon dengan sang pacar Alice yang terkenal cantik. Keadaan sekolah dihinggapi rasa was-was. Kemudian seorang murid lain bernama Laetitia pun dikabarkan menghilang, padahal malam sebelumnya ia datang ke rumah Jérémie untuk meminjamkan buku catatan supaya ia bisa mengejar ketertinggalan pelajaran di sekolah. Apakah Jérémie terlibat dalam semua ini?

Walaupun ada Monica Belluci yang bohai, agak sulit saya merekomendasikan film ini. Alur ceritanya sangat njelimet untuk dicerna dan bahkan sampai ending pun masih banyak pertanyaan yang tidak terjawab.

Film ini memang adaptasi dari komik Prancis besutan Jacques Tardi dengan tokoh utamanya Adèle Blanc-Sec (Louise Bourgoin), seorang novelis/wartawan wanita (wartawati dong?), dengan setting jaman awal tahun 1900-an atau sebelum Perang Dunia I. Karakter Adèle adalah wanita dengan pemikiran yang mendahului jamannya, berani, mandiri, siap menerima tantangan, tidak pernah menyerah.

Few films (especially mysteries) have left me with irritation and annoyance, and this one is included. I hope you will agree with me after watching this movie. I'm not saying that the film is bad, it's just that the director succeeded in intention to make the audience ponder endlessly for the answer. I myself had the feeling of being tricked hehehe..

Cerita dari awalnya menarik untuk diikuti, penuh misteri dan berbau 'science'. Emma kehilangan kekasihnya, François, yang lenyap tanpa memberi kabar dan meninggalkan jejak. Emma pun memulai perjalanan mencari François yang membawanya ke Michel, kakak François. Kisah pencarian ini juga melibatkan profesor fisika (apa hubungannya?) yang mengkuliahi ttg teori 'black hole' (???).

Di akhir cerita, Emma tahu kenapa sang kekasih bisa hilang tanpa jejak, karena hal itu juga terjadi pada Michel. Agak membingungkan memang :)

Dilatarbelakangi legenda la bête du Gévaudan atau Monster Gevaudan, film ini mencoba untuk memberikan 'jawaban' imajinatif bagi misteri mengenai Monster tersebut. Sebagai informasi, Monster Gevaudan menteror daerah selatan Prancis pada abad ke-18, terutama menyerang manusia dan memakannya (baca juga di Wikipedia).

Film berkisah mengenai kedatangan utusan Raja Prancis, Grégoire de Fronsac, yang ditemani seorang pembantu berdarah Indian Amerika, ke Gevaudan khusus untuk menangkap Monster. Dalam usahanya menangkap dan mengungkapkan misteri Monster ini, Fronsac menemukan adanya keterlibatan tokoh-tokoh di jajaran elit Gevaudan, yang akan mengkait-kaitnya keberadaan Monster ini dengan sebagai hukuman Tuhan kepada Raja Prancis. Jadilah legenda dan misteri Monster Gevaudan dicampuri intrik politik dan agama :)

Film thriller yang keren.. Georges dikirimi sebuah kaset yang berisikan rekaman gambar situasi depan rumahnya, sehingga terlihat disitu saat Georges dan istrinya keluar rumah. Khawatir akan keselamatan keluarganya, Georges mencoba mencari tahu siapa yang mengirim dan apa motifnya. Disusul kemudian datang kaset yang berisi rekaman gambar rumah orangtuanya.

Dari petunjuk yang ada di dalam rekaman, Georges akhirnya dapat menarik kesimpulan bahwa hal ini berhubungan dengan masa lalunya di waktu kecil.

Saya harus akui bahwa film ini sangat luar biasa dan patut mendapat perhatian dari penggemar film. Dari segi cerita, seperti thriller kebanyakan, jawaban akan ditemukan pada akhir cerita setelah melewati beberapa 'petunjuk'..
Ini menarik untuk disimak, bahwa lika-liku aksi si protagonis Mathilde dalam mencari kekasihnya Manech harus dengan menelusuri semua petunjuk yang ada (even the slightest!).. jangan sampai mata anda lepas dari layar :P

L'Appartement

Hari jumat ini, saya mulai membikin review film yang dibintangi oleh si cantik nan seksi Monica Belucci (MB). L'Appartement adalah film bikinan tahun 1996, dimana MB masih terhitung "hijau" dalam dunia layar perak.

[Note: Saya pertama nonton peran MB di film Italia "Malena" (tahun 2000-an tuh) dan sangat terkesan dengan tubuhnya yang sintal hahahaha............]

Lanjut, film ini menceritakan cinta segi tiga (segi empat juga sih) antara Max (Cassel), Lisa (MB) dan Alice (Ecoffey). karena memakai alur flashback yang tercerai berai (sekaligus kadang flashforward :p), kalo orang ga memperhatikan dgn seksama, pasti bakal bingung deh.

nasib ketiga orang ini saling terhubung pada setiap peristiwa yang digambarkan, jadinya satu sama lain saling melengkapi lubang-lubang misteri yang tetep seru hingga detik terakhir. nah, akhir cerita ini bukan seperti yang anda "inginkan". tapi dengan 'smart'nya oleh sang penulis skenario, kita dibawa pada suatu kesimpulan yang sama: I HATE ALICE... mpphhh..'happy ending' yang miris.

btw, saya kira semua orang bakal setuju, seandainya udh ada teknologi "ponsel" alias telepon seluler, ga bakal deh ceritanya jadi kaya gitu.. ;)
oh ya, Cassel dan MB dalam kehidupan nyata akhirnya menikah beneran (info: Wikipedia)
